I studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design from 2006-2009. Having transferred from my program in graphic design at Concordia in montreal, I went to NSCAD specifically to study jewellery, and was able to focus the majority of my remaining credits in jewellery and metal courses.
NSCAD's approach is both techincally oriented as well as pushing students to formulate their own unique concepts and ideas about jewellery and wearable art. We have plenty of studio access (it was 24hours access, but will be reduced the coming year for health and safety reasons). This allowed us all to spend the time needed doing material experiments as well as developing our design ideas with peers. NSCAD strength is in its community. I am now moving to Toronto and looking for studio space to continue working, and can't wait for some of the upcoming shows in the city!
